CPA and Tax Planning in Atascocita, TX
I help Atascocita families and small business owners, and we can work entirely online. If you’d rather meet in person, my office is on N. Sam Houston Parkway East, a short drive away.
I’m Deanna Ngueket, a CPA licensed by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
Atascocita is an unincorporated community near Lake Houston, and many residents run home-based businesses or contracting work. I help those owners set up, track expenses and plan for quarterly taxes.
What I help with
- Tax preparation: individual returns, and business returns on Form 1120-S, 1065 and Schedule C
- Tax planning during the year, including S corporation decisions and quarterly estimates
- IRS and Texas Comptroller notice help, available without being an ongoing client
- Cloud bookkeeping setup, cleanup and monthly reconciliations
- Starting a business in Texas: entity choice, formation, EIN and the franchise tax calendar
Home-based and contracting businesses
- Home office. If you use part of your home regularly and only for business, you can deduct it. The simplified method is $5 per square foot, up to 300 square feet.
- Vehicle expenses. For business driving, you can deduct either the business share of your actual costs (gas, repairs, insurance and depreciation) or the standard mileage rate. For 2026, the rate is 72.5 cents a mile for January through June and 76 cents a mile from July 1 on. To keep the option of using the mileage rate later, use it in the first year the vehicle is used for business. Either way, keep a log with the date, miles and business purpose of each trip. Driving from home to a regular work site is commuting, and it doesn’t count.
- Quarterly estimates. You generally avoid the underpayment penalty by paying in the smaller of 90% of this year’s tax or 100% of last year’s. Use 110% if last year’s adjusted gross income was over $150,000.
- Paying subcontractors. For payments made in 2026, you file a Form 1099-NEC once you’ve paid someone $2,000 or more. Get a signed Form W-9 before you pay them. Here’s why the W-9 matters even under $2,000.

For Atascocita business owners
If your business is growing, the questions change: whether an S corporation election still makes sense at your profit level, what reasonable compensation looks like, and whether your bookkeeping will hold up at tax time. I look at those against your actual numbers rather than a rule of thumb. The free LLC vs. S-Corp guide is a good place to start. For the full comparison, read LLC vs S corp in Texas.
Fees
Every engagement is quoted in writing before any work begins. Individual returns start at $550 and business returns start at $950. You can get an estimate on the individual or business pricing page. If you sign by December 15, 2026, your 2026 return is 20% off (details).
